Effective July 1, 2026, new surcharges will be implemented to recover terminal-specific costs associated with import cargo moving through the United States and Canada. These charges will cover terminal expenses including security fees, wharfage, the NY/NJ Port Facility Charge, and the Energy Transition Fee applied at DP World–operated ports in Canada.
Please see below for the charge name, applicable locations, and corresponding tariff amounts:

For FMC-regulated cargo, including exempt cargo discharging at U.S. ports, the effective date is based on the date on which Maersk takes possession of the final container associated with the bill of lading. For cargo discharging in Canada, the effective date is determined by the vessel’s scheduled sailing date.
Payment terms for these charges will default to collect unless alternate instructions are specified in your shipping documents.
We appreciate your continued partnership and remain committed to providing reliable and transparent service.
If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact your local Sales or Customer Experience Representative. Contact details for all local offices are available on Maersk.com.
